Hello... Can you please help me understand this pattern : "With size 7 needles, CO 64 (72, 76, 80) sts and use Basic Herringbone Stitch. Work even until sleeve measures 17” (17½”, 18”, 18”). BO loosely." I don't understand what work even means. Thanks !

Hello, everyone! A friend of mine sent me the email below. I don't quite follow what her pattern is saying either. Can anyone please help? I'm pretty sure she's referring to a pattern for a baby sweater. Anyway, I am stuck on pattern instructions....help 911, please.... Continue in St st, increasing 1 st at each end every other row 3 (0,0,0,0) times, every 4th row 4 (7,7,8,8) times - 41 (43,43,45,47) sts. OK, this is my problem...I understand that I increase by 1 stitch at end of every other row 3 times, but what do they mean after the comma??? Increase by 1 every fourth row 7 times???? I am following the the number is underlined but cannot figure it out for the life of me..... I casted on 29....29+1+1+1=32+1+1+1+1+1+1+1=39???? Huuuuu???? If you understand, please, I am begging you, help Thanks a boat load, Patricia EDIT: Thanks for all the responses! She emailed me a few minutes after I posted this and worked it out. It's good to know there are so many people ready to help though. :)

I've been attempting to make KnitPicks "Fancy Pants" for my little girl (to use as a soaker) and I'm having a terrible time with it.  I got the whole thing finished but when I went to put them together, it was completely wrong.  Has anyone ever made these?  I *thin* the problem is that the short-row shaping is supposed to be on opposite sides so that when it's joined in the round, they come together for back shaping.  But the pattern just says to work the right exactly as the left and when I did that...well, it doesn't fit together right.  Am I just completely not getting it?  Anyone know?

I am feeling SO much more confident about my maths exam tomorrow! My tutor took me through all the things I was feeling unsure about last night, and today everything just seems to be falling into place in my brain. I'm still having a little difficulty with learning the formluae for coordinate geometry, but everything else is fine and dandy. ^_^ The problem with this exam isn't so much the maths side of it, which I can do fine - but rather the way they word the questions. Sometimes it takes quite a while to understand what they're asking you to do, and then it takes even more time to pick out the relevent information to use in your answer. My real fear about this exam is running out of time; I tend to get bogged down and frustrated when I don't understand something, rather than move onto something else and go back to it later. Still, I'm now feeling confident about this exam, and my tutor said he's pretty sure I'll get at least a B (and if I revise my ass off today, I may even scrape an A, which would be tres awesome!). I may be back later to post a few slash icons to wliialove, but other than that I won't be here again until after my exam, so wish me luck! (And prepare for an onslaught of icons, vids and fics as I use my rusty creative muscles :D) Hope everyone is well! Huggies and kissies all round. .x.Sess.x. By the way, if anyone on my flist is doing revision, or just needs some calming music, I recommend '74-'75 by The Connells. I've been listening to it non-stop during my revision, and it's helped greatly. :)

Rick is way too cute for his own good. So Friday is the Sun God Festival at UCSD. I completely forgot about this. So now I have to ask my mom if I can go. Get my tax money, and buy train tickets by Thursday night. I really want to go. Not so much for the festival as to see Julius. Sun God is basically an excuse for the students to get drunk and stoned. They get a couple of stages set up and bands play. Last year I went because I wanted to see Ben Kweller. This year the Aquabats are gonna be there. Not as cool as Ben Kweller, but I still like them. It should be fun. I hope everything works out and I can go. It's 2:30 in the morning. I really shouldn't be watching The Others. I'm gonna go to sleep now.

This is my first time posting in this community, and I am a novice knitter (mostly scarves and half finished socks for me!), but I recently figured out how to make mitered squares, and I am half way done with a blanket, and I wanted to show it to you!
